Rally in DU in support of victim
The Delhi University is taking a strong stand against the alleged sexual harassment of a lab assistant, who tried to immolate herself when she was terminated from her services after she filed a complaint against the college principal. Delhi University and College Karamchari Union (DUCKU) is organising a massive dharna on Monday to demand immediate police action against the accused persons. “From the very beginning, when this whole trauma was unleashed at her, she has been consistently writing to all the concerned authorities for justice. But it went unheard and she got no respite. This forced her to the wall leading to the unfortunate act of self-immolation,” said Dr Aditya Narayan Misra, former DUTA president. On Saturday, a candlelight protest was organised in support of the victim and many people participated in the event.
