Sanjay Dutt has been picking up the pieces and trying to get his life back on track ever since his release from jail.
His second innings in Bollywood was met with solidarity from other actors and filmmakers. However, it’s the A-list women who have been maintaining their distance and shying away from being cast in his movies.
Rumour is that Alia Bhatt refused to play the role of his daughter in the film Bhoomi, without even reading the script. And now, after many leading ladies declined to star in Malang, Dutt has signed on Ankita Lokhande to play the lead.

Ankita is the former girlfriend and co-star of actor Sushant Singh Rajput from the popular TV show called Pavitra Rishta. After the show ended in 2014, she has been lying low and waiting for the right break to come her way.
Apparently, her wait has paid off. We hear it is a role of a lifetime. Well, we couldn’t be happier for both the actors involved. About time, too.
