John Abraham books Independence Day

After making sure that single screens were set on fire with a record breaking 70 percent collections for Satyamev Jayate, his last Independence Day release in 2018, John Abraham is going to be back on Independence Day 2020 with the sequel to the film.

Interestingly, he has also booked I-Day 2019 for the release of Batla House. “Director Milap Zaveri took time off on the sequel because he was working on his other project. Marjaavan, starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria, was being shot. Milap has just started penning the sequel. Both producers Nikhil and Bhushan have agreed on the sequel idea, and decided to bankroll it once they are presented with the final draft. Manoj Bajpayee will also be a part of the sequel and the heroine Aisha Sharma is expected to be replaced,” says a trade source.

Interestingly, producer Bhushan Kumar, after getting his wife Divya Khosla Kumar to direct, is now getting her back into acting with Satamev Jayate 2.
