No smoke without cigarette
Kriti Sanon is someone who dislikes smoking or does not advocate the habit to anybody. However, she was made to puff a cigarette in her film Bareilly Ki Barfi. She says she hated it and went through as it was a character requirement.
“I have always been anti-smoking, and I never felt the urge to smoke. I did not like it even after doing it, but it was how the character was shaped. And since I did not want it to look like a half-hearted attempt, I had to do it the right way. I could have just opted to mouth smoke, but it wouldn’t have looked good on screen. When it comes to smokers, audiences can easily find out whether a person is smoking or not. There are certain small nuances like how a person is holding a cigarette or flicking the ash that is spotted easily,” says Kriti. The lovely actress celebrated her birthday on Thursday by cutting a cake on the sets in the presence of co-stars Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana.
Incidentally, she plays a break dancer and a Michael Jackson fan in the film much like her debut film co-star Tiger Shroff who had a similar fetish in Munna Michael.
