It remains unclear whether Shah Rukh Khan is slated to work with Rajkumar Hirani or director duo Raj and DK next.
Shah Rukh Khan’s last film Zero released on December 21, 2018 and he has made no film announcement since, which is quite unusual thing for the actor.
Khan has always had a film or two to announce by the time his next film is releasing, but the actor is biding his time. While his project with south director Atlee Kumar is nowhere close to taking off, sources in the SRK camp insist that he is doing his next film with Raj. However, it is unclear whether that Raj is Rajkumar Hirani or director duo Raj and DK, as he is in talks with both.
Incidentally, Raj also happens to be the name of a character Shah Rukh Khan has played in over seven films till date – from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to Dilwale, or other films like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Chalte Chalte, Baadshah, Mohabbatein, Rab Ne Bana di Jodi or his cameo in Heyy Babyy.
But trade sources now insist that it is the Rajkumar Hirani film and that an announcement should come in the New Year. Our source reveals, “It should come ideally very quickly into the new year. Fans were expecting an announcement on his birthday on November 2, but that did not happen. So we should now patiently wait for SRK to speak about it. Shah Rukh and Hirani met recently at a Mukesh Ambani event and exchanged notes as well.”
