Valar Morghulis ! fellow Game of Thrones family, we’re inching closer to the nail-biting, spine trilling, adrenaline pumping premiere of the final season eight in India today. Here’s how Bengaluru is prepping for the grand release.

It’s time to find out the fate of Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen and the rest of Westeros and of course the ultimate showdown between the living and the dead. Game of Thrones is a chair-clinching novel which was written by George R Martin has seen an extravagant fan following in the past few years after it was adapted into a series. With several dialects curated for the series itself one would spark romance or brotherhood the second they got the appropriate response to Valar Morghulis or even by finishing a favourite dialogue.

If you are in search of a family that understands your love and passion for Game of Thrones, then you can find over a hundred staunch GoT fans waiting collectively to watch the grand premiere at the Gudguda Cafe in Koramangala. The owner of the cafe Venu seemed quite thrilled, “I have friends who are mad about Game of Thrones and one of them suggested that we host the premiere episode. It of course was a brilliant idea and we sold over 100 tickets. I am super excited to host this eclectic family.”

While on one side we have the preparations for the release in full swing on the other we had cafes hosting a recap sessions the previous evening. The GoT recap at the Dialogues Cafe was welcomed by many, Ankit Gupta a team member of the cafe said, “Since our cafe hosts several discussion meet ups and we have a movies club, we suggested this idea to them and indeed they loved the idea, with a team limited to 25 members we sat discussing for three hours about how the past seasons were and analysing how makers of the series going to get us hooked to our television sets again. I’ve been super excited for the premiere and I have prepared myself from the past one week.”

For those who have already found love and are also Game of Thrones fanatics, they have a romantic evening planned. Sahana GS, a GoT fan said, “Unfortunately I will be at work during the premiere so, with great difficulty I’m going to isolate myself from the spoilers alerts around at work. And, once I get home, my husband and I have decided to stack up all the snacks so we don’t have to get up mid-way and watch the episode with a cup of tea - the English style.”

Ardent Game of Thrones fans do not have the patience to wait for the official release in India and here’s a small secret they revealed. Binay Sarkar, a proud member of the House of Stark fan club said, “I travelled from the city centre all the way to a friend’s place in Electronic city to binge watch the previous season so we are all set for the release. This is definitely serious business as we sat down discussing the probabilities. We do not have the patience to wait for till evening and hence ‘hail torrents’ early this morning. We will watch the release as it is happening in the US.” When asked about why this craze he signed off quoting his favourite dialogue by a character Cersei Lannister from the series, “When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die, there is no middle ground.”
