Till breakups do us apart

The year 2016 saw many telly relationships breaking up unceremoniously. What remained common to each of these break ups is the uncertain ending. Here’s a round up of the love affairs that went kaput….

Divyanka Tripathy-Ssharad Malhotra:
The relationship may have survived the famous seven-year itch but the very much in love couple decided to call it quits earlier this year. Ssharad’s growing closeness to his Maharana Pratap  co-star, Rachna Parulekar was becoming increasingly obvious since two made their affection for each other known. The estranged couple issued a joint statement about their break-up. Divyanka soon found comfort in the arms of her Ye Hai Mohabbatein co-star Vivek Dahiya.

Sushant Singh Rajput-Ankita Lokhande:
Sushant and Ankita fell in love on the sets of their show Pavitra Rishta. Then Sushant became a successful movie star. What followed was an all too familiar scenario with the insecure girlfriend. Sushant’s closeness with co-star Kriti Sanon made matters worse, and the couple announced their split. However, fans of the couple are still hoping for reconciliation between the two lovers. 

Vivian D’Sena-Vahhbiz Dorabjee:
Vivian and Vahhbiz were considered the ideal couple in television. Though reserved by nature Vivian adapted himself to Vahhbiz’s outgoing party hearty ways. The steady marriage was disturbed by Vahhbiz’s alleged proximity with Vipul Roy. As the news spread, Vahhbiz took to Twitter to deny the claims. The couple later cited compatibility issues to call off their marriage.

Gauahar Khan-Kushal Tandon:
They met in a reality show and fell head over heels in love with each other. The couple dated for one year, until Kushal broke the news on Twitter. The split came as a shock to many. Kushal in a fit of rage gave murky details of the breakup to the media insisting Gauahar would not be an ideal match considering his illustrious lineage (his grandfather Lalji Tandon was a distinguished BJP member). He later had to render a public apology to Gauahar and her fans.    

Aashka Goradia-Rohit Bakshi:
Though Aashka went about town accepting the on-off affair, Rohit never admitted to the relationship. The couple broke up after Rohit was in no mood to commit to the affair. Earlier this year, Aashka found love far off in America in the form of Brent Gable, who moved to India to be with his ladylove. In fact, Aashka announced her engagement to Brent on Wednesday.
