Rearrange and regenerate
Place deities, spiritual and religious idols as per the basic rules of Vastu Shastra to maintain peace, harmony and equilibrium
If you have started preparing for Diwali and are already in the process of cleaning the house, then do not forget to identify the objects that are redundant and can be discarded or relocated to an ideal direction. The interior of your home plays a crucial role in its serenity. By simply making a few changes, you can definitely live peacefully. Framed paintings on your walls, pretty sculptures in your room corners and even the setting of your dressing table can work wonders in your daily routine and when placed in the right direction, these can prove beneficial for a happy, smooth and positive life.
Here are the few ways art forms, deities, paintings of historical and religious importance, etc. should be placed in your home according to Vastu.
Figure of Buddha should be placed in the North-East (NE) Vastu zone of your home. According to Directions of Alchemy in Vastu Shastra, the North-East zone is responsible for your connectivity with your own self. When you place a symbol of spirituality, it sends a message to the space of your house that you want to get connected with your higher self.
Idol of Lord Shiva should also be placed in North-East direction. The other name of Shiva is Shikhi, which in itself means the North-East direction. Also, it is the best place for meditation.
It is best if the Ganesha is facing North as that direction is Lord Shiva’s (Ganesh’s father) direction and it is believed that Gajanan is happy when he is facing that direction. Ganesha idol should also be installed at the entrance of the house as it brings prosperity to the house and its inmates. It is also suggested that you should always install two Ganesha idols backing each other as it is believed that poverty resides behind his back and if you install a Ganesha idol at the entrance of your house with his back to your house you would be inviting poverty.
An idol of Hanuman should face the South-southeast direction. It is the zone of power and confidence and since he gives strength, power and removes fear, it is ideal.
While an idol or statue of Maa Durga is best suited for the South-Eastern zone, Maa Kaali’s idol should be placed facing South. The SE zone represents fire and cash and Durga is the source of energy and power. Whereas, South resonates the zone of fame and relaxation and Kaali is an abundant source of energy that gives you fame and recognition. An idol of Maa Saraswati should be placed in the West southwest as the zone represents education.
Now coming to religious paintings and representations, a picture or painting depicting Sagar Manthan should be placed in the East-southeast direction. It will help you to take the right decision at right time as the direction reflects the process of churning, which gives you the result of your efforts.
Swastika, when placed in different zones of the house, gives different results. For example, in NNW, it promotes good health and quick recovery. In East, it gives mental peace, better social connections and relations. In ESE, it strengthens your confidence and if placed in WSW, children will start performing better in studies. Swastika in WNW helps you recover from low moods and mental blocks and in NNW increases mutual love and attraction.
