Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday urged the people to light Ram Jyoti on January 22, when ‘pran pratishtha’ (consecration ceremony) of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will take place.

Modi, as part of his special religious practice for 11 days in the run up to the  ceremony, has been sleeping on a blanket on the floor and taking only coconut water. He has been performing gau puja, feeding cows and engaging in charity like anna daan and giving away clothes in accordance with scriptures, sources said. He has also been visiting a series of temples.
