Some devices are meant to make life easier for people but not being careful with them can make the most basic tasks a struggle. Dentures are fake teeth which are supposed to make eating easier for people but sometimes they can end up doing the opposite.

46-year-old Deepak Nandi from Kolkata had to eat from a tube after his food pipe was damaged by his false teeth. The shop owner lived a recluse life after swallowing his dentures also caused him to drool.

Although he kept the incident to himself, Nandi’s family were suspicious as he didn’t eat in front of them. While the device was removed two and a half years back, the damage left him unable to swallow anything.

Nandi had surgery twice after that to widen his gullet and can now eat properly after three years. Medics had to perform reconstructive surgery to close the fistula which was caused by the injury.
