Display: The Find X is all about achieving a notch-free fullscreen display with minimal bezels all around. With a screen-to-body ratio of almost 93.8 per cent, the Find X beats all the existing fullscreen smartphone in terms of display real estate. It’s a 6.4-inch curved display that uses a Samsung AMOLED panel. The bezels on the sides and the top are negligible whereas the bottom has a slim chin to accommodate the display driver connectors.

Sliding Camera: The Find X’s star attraction is the sliding camera mechanism. Unlike the Vivo NEX, which houses only a sliding selfie camera, the Find X house both the front as well as rear dual camera setup on the motorised sliding mechanism. As a result, the entire top section of the phone pops up when the camera needs to be used. The module stays opened only when the camera is in use — it stays shut rest of the time. OPPO says that the module pops out in less than a second.

3D Face Recognition System: The sliding camera module also houses the facial recognition hardware with 3D depth sensing features. Similar to the iPhone X’s FaceID setup, the OPPO Find X houses a combination of an infrared camera, flood illuminator, ranging sensor, receiver and a dot projector. OPPO claims that their face unlock setup is 20 times more secure than the fingerprint sensor, which is why they are relying solely on it. Yes, there’s no fingerprint sensor on the Find X. The camera module pops out while unlocking the phone and goes back within seconds.

3D Omoji characters: The inclusion of a 3D facial recognition system allows for face tracking emojis, which OPPO likes to call 3D Omoji. Similar to Apple’s Animojis, it will track facial animations and implement it on the custom images or cartoon-style emojis. OPPO claims that users can easily share with other smartphone users as well.
