Samsung has started selling Harman International’s consumer audio products through its local distribution channels in the home market, reported The Korea Herald. The company plans to expand the distribution in the coming years.

The tech giant has confirmed to release 40 speakers, earphones and  headphones under Harman Kardon, JBL and AKG brands through 30 Samsung Digital Plaza in S. Korea.

Harman International Industries is a 70-year-old American automotive technology company, which is best known for audio systems under brand names popular with audiophiles such as Harman/Kardon and JBL. The company has now been acquired by South Korea-based tech giant Samsung worth $8 billion.

Harman’s acquisition by Samsung comes, from what reports suggest, to enter into automotive electronics.

The recent report has suggested that for now Samsung is aiming to expand Harman’s operations by opening exclusive Harman shops in the country, to provide a better sound experience to consumers.
