It’s no secret that WhatsApp has been working on a dark mode for its app and with the latest beta; the dark theme has made its way on to WhatsApp yet again. The newest beta release shows this feature along with more UI changes.

Users can expect the dark mode on WhatsApp to arrive anytime now as the latest beta update — 2.19.237 for Android features further development of the dark mode in the messaging app. As of now, WhatsApp dark mode isn’t yet available to the public beta users and the latest development WhatsApp has is the default ‘dark’ wallpaper, a report by WABetaInfo states. The new dark mode wallpaper for WhatsApp comes with the same ‘night blue’ hues that were spotted before.

With every beta release, WhatsApp has built on a new development of dark mode for its smartphone messaging app. Related reports claim that WhatsApp has recently implemented the dark splash screen on its beta version with the splash screen being the new launch screen of the app. The splash screen features the WhatsApp logo in the centre and dark mode is now seen here as well.

A related report by Hindustan Times states that WhatsApp has almost covered every aspect of the app with this dark theme. The new dark mode wallpaper seems to be the last stage of development in terms of UI changes. This could mean that WhatsApp is extremely close to releasing dark mode as a public beta or even publicly.

With that being said, WhatsApp beta users usually get to test unreleased features before they get released to the public. However, with dark mode not being available to the public at all, the Facebook-owned instant messaging giant could launch it for all users at the same time.
