Hello – a new social media network app
Built for iOS and Android, the 'hello' app is built specifically to bring people together based on their interests.
A decade ago, Orkut had been the biggest social network platform on this planet, which was later suppressed by Facebook. It was founded by Orkut Buyukkokten, who is currently the CEO of Hello Network. The company has launched 'hello' – a new social media app launched in India.
Built for iOS and Android, the hello app is built specifically for today’s mobile-generation to bring people together according to their interests to create positive, significant, real connections and sustained social interaction.
According to the company, the hello is designed by the way people go after their interests and is built around interest-based persons and communities where users can share and express their ideas and experiences. The app also allows the user to discover other like-minded people based on the same interests and makes it easier in building conversations.
The Hello app had been initially released in Brazil, which nearly had 1 million downloads. The company has also been testing this app in India past several months, and the analytics showcased users spending over 320 minutes per month on the app as well. While testing the beta version in India, the company had seen the popularity of the sport, entertainment and technology amongst the users, however, the top priority interests among the users were about Bollywood, Cricket, Entrepreneurship, etc. More than 55 per cent of the Indian users have created content weekly, which is almost twice the average across other social networks as stated by the company.
Commenting on the launch, Orkut Buyukkokten said, “Passions are often the start of our conversations in real life. Today’s online networks force people to treat each other totally differently from how they would behave face-to-face. Technology should help us become more understanding, more optimistic, kinder and better people. We designed hello to help you make connections in the real world. It’s a social network built on loves not likes, and I’m delighted to say hello to India once again.”
The ‘hello’ app is available for free on iOS (iOS 9 and above) and Android (KitKat and above) platforms.
