‘If I plan to divorce, I’ll announce it’
There have been loud whispers about trouble in Jay Bhanushali and Mahi Vij’s marriage doing the rounds, ever since the couple left to shoot for Khatron Ke Khiladi in Argentina. While the actress admits that Jay and she have had fights like all couples do, certain people are blowing up the issue for their own benefit. Mahi says, “Every time people say something negative about Jay and me, I believe hamari nazar utar rahi hai.
For the past two years people have been claiming that I am pregnant and now they are claiming that we are getting divorced. Usually I choose not to react, but truth is our families read all this and get affected by the negativity. If I ever plan to get a divorce, I will announce it myself. There isn’t any need for a third person to speculate. Jay and I are the classiest couple on television and every couple-based show is offered to us first. People who can’t digest our popularity are trying to damage our reputation.”
There was also buzz that Jay was getting close to another female participant at the KKK shoot and that Jay and Mahi were living in separate rooms. Mahi says, “Jay gets along with people easily but that doesn’t mean that he is having an affair. I wanted to respond when all these rumours started doing the rounds but Jay stopped me because he doesn’t believe in getting into fights and giving other people publicity at the cost of our reputation. Yes, we had two rooms and we kept one room only for the luggage.
Then someone claimed that Jay had ordered an erotic massage during the shoot, but fact is it’s the production house that arranges massages for every contestant because of the strenuous tasks. We would get injured often. So for people who are trying to get publicity at our expense, that isn’t going to happen.”
Psst! Meanwhile at the Box Cricket League launch on Wednesday, exes Kamya Punjabi and Karan Patel kept bumping into each other when they had to share the stage. Kamya however, couldn’t avoid the inevitable question about why Karan isn’t part of her team Jaipur Raj Joshilay this time around.
The actress said, “The biggest tragedy of life is that some things always change. The team has changed, not our ideals. We’re as prepared as ever — regardless of who is in the team and who isn’t. The reason for the change is very clear. It’s all over in the papers. I’m a very bindaas woman, I can’t be a diplomat, I’m open about what happened.” Sunny Leone is also part of the BCL this year.
