The makers of the upcoming Hrithik Roshan starrer are already raking in the cash, with the movie’s satellite and music rights going for a high price. Recovering money at the box office can be an extremely difficult task, considering the current state of affairs in Bollywood. With the constant change in audience tastes and a spate of Hollywood movies raking in the moolah, many big-ticket Bollywood movies have failed to garner the big numbers they were expected to. However, Ashutosh Gowariker’s next, Mohenjo Daro, doesn’t have that trouble, with the movie’s makers already cracking a fruitful deal.
According to trade buzz, makers of the movie have recovered a major chunk of the investments they made in the movie. The film’s satellite as well as music rights have been sold, and close to Rs 60 crores have already been recovered. Says a source, “The makers closed the deal very recently. They were very confident about their product and feel that it has a unique factor, which the TV viewing audience will love. Also with A.R. Rahman being the music composer, a lot of expectations are riding on the film.”
Going by the particulars of the deal, it looks like the makers are in a safe zone as of now. Mohenjo Daro will feature Hrithik in the role of a farmer and Pooja Hegde has been paired alongside him for the first time. The movie has already been shot and will be released in August, the date possibly clashing with the Akshay Kumar-starrer Rustom.
