Sanjay Leela Bhansali to launch newcomers this week
The director's latest project that will also star his niece Sharmin Sehgal will be launched on Saturday.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is all set to introduce his niece Sharmin Sehgal and Jaaved Jaffrey’s son Meezaan, in his upcoming film Malaal. Audiences can get the first taste of the movie on Saturday, when the trailer will be launched.
Malaal has been making headlines since its announcement, amid rumours that it is a remake of a Tamil film named 7G Rainbow Colony. The film has previously been made in Telugu (as 7G Brindavan Colony), Odia, Bengali, and Kannada as well, and was a hit across the board.
While other newcomers get to experience social media fame before attaining movie star status, Bhansali has strictly forbidden Meezaan and Sharmin. The legendary filmmaker has asked them to maintain a low profile, lest they reveal anything about themselves or the film.
“Meezaan and Sharmin Segal have been prepping and training for the film for over two years. They have maintained a low profile so far and focussed on bettering their craft as actors. They will be interacting with the media for the very first time at the trailer launch of the film where Bhansali will introduce them,” says a source close to the development of the movie.
Malaal is directed by Mangesh Hadawle, who had earlier helmed the award-winning Marathi film Tingya, as well as the much acclaimed Dekh Indian Circus.
