Bombay HC asks its admin about reservation

The court has asked its administration to file an affidavit in the court within three weeks.

Mumbai: The Bombay high court has asked its administration department as to why there is no reservation for the backward community in the high court as well as lower court staff recruitments’ process. The court has asked its administration to file an affidavit in the court within three weeks.

A division bench of Justice Naresh Patil and Justice Girish kulkarni was hearing a petition filed by  Pradnya Bhoite and national cobbler mahasangh, managing director Dr Shanataram Karande pointing out that since last 15 years reservation has been made at various departments of the state government and central government but no reservation exists at Bombay high court and various lower courts of the state.

Petition has also mentioned that after supreme court’s order, high court’s like Manipur, Meghalay, Madras, Keral, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chhatisgarh, Gujarat have started giving reservations to backward class.

Earlier, while hearing the petition the court refused to stay the recruitment process. The court said it is now too late to file this petition because recruitment process in the final stage. The court further asked administration to file its reply within three weeks.
