Earlier we had informed you that Anand L. Rai’s Manmarziyan, which was to be directed by Sameer Sharma, would be directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari, of Nil Battey Sannata fame. The film was to star Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar, but the movie didn’t see the light of day and was put on hold for an indefinite period of time. Now, it looks like yet another of Anand’s movies has been put on the backburner.

The producer, who last worked on Happy Bhaag Jayegi had roped in South filmmaker, Prasanna, to remake his movie, Kalyana Samayal Saadham. It was to see Kartik Aryan and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Unfortunately, fate had other plans, as this untitled movie too ended up being pushed indefinitely.

Says a source, “The South remake that Anand was producing and Prasanna was directing, has been put on hold, and the makers are gearing up instead for another film Nimmo, in which Dhanush plays a cameo.”

A strong source suggests that Kartik refused another movie for Anand’s pushed project. “Kartik, who was approached for Tadka, which stars Nana Patekar and Shreya Saran, said ‘no’ to the makers of this for a better offer in Anand’s film. However it turns out that Anand’s movie too is being pushed to make way for Nimmo.”
