Ajay's one-liners are mind-blowing'
Ajay Devgn and Kajol who recently teamed up for Tanhaji are now basking in their film’s success. The actress couldn’t be happier for being a part of her husband’s 100th Hindi film and walks down the memory lane remembering how she met her husband and her father-in-law. “I met my father-in-law 25 years ago while shooting for Karan Arjun. He had come to meet Jackie Shroff, so we took a break from shooting for two hours. We were sitting together on the set and papaji would make us laugh by cracking jokes. I hadn’t met Ajay, till then.” It was only after a year that she met her future husband and came to know that he is the late action director’s son. The actor, says Kajol, is not very different from her father-in-law. “Ajay doesn’t like cracking jokes as such but his one-liners are mind-blowing. He has a great sense of humour and delivers his lines with a straight face,” she says.
Veeru Devgn passed away a few months ago and remembering him, she says, “The humanitarian work he had done isn’t small. I don’t think there is any technician who was so popular in those days. He established that he wanted to edit his own shots and also upgrade the technical know-how in the industry.” The actress also revealed that Ajay started editing with his father when he was only 10-12 years old. “In those days, editing wasn’t easy. It required cutting negatives and pasting them at very small intervals. Now, it’s comparatively easy.”
