CBFC chief Pahlaj Nihalani is up in arms against Imtiaz Ali, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma for what he considers is a vulgar exchange in the soon-to-be-released Jab Harry Met Sejal. In the film trailer, Anushka Sharma is seen discussing the legal ramifications of a possible sexual intercourse with Shah Rukh Khan.

Shockingly, Nihalani says the dialogue about sex in the trailer has been ordered out by the CBFC. “We’ve granted a UA certification to the trailer on condition of deletion of the intercourse dialogue. They have yet to come back to us on that. So in principle, the trailer has not been passed yet,” says Nihalani, adding that the uncensored trailer with the “intercourse” interaction was not permitted in any medium in India.

“They’ve uploaded the uncut trailer on YouTube. The CBFC cannot stop content on the Internet. But we can and will stop the broadcast of the uncensored footage on television. The trailer has been picked up from the web and is being aired on various news channels. This is completely against the law, and we plan to take the strictest action against the channels which have aired the censored content from Imtiaz Ali’s film,” says a miffed Nihalani.
