Wishes flowed in for the Prime Minister from various political leaders, cutting across party lines on his birthday.

New Delhi: Commemorating Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 69th birthday on Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party’s youth wing Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) administered the ‘OneIndianOnePledge’ to 69 lakh youths across the nation.

Along with the ‘Seva Saptah’ that the party has been celebrating since September 14 to mark the occasion, the BJYM leaders administerd the pleadge across the nation on rainwater harvesting, disuse of single-use plastic, plantation, cleanliness, and solar energy, as appealed by the Prime Minister on various occasions.

Wishes flowed in for the Prime Minister from various political leaders, cutting across party lines on his birthday.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, former President Pranab Mukherjee, BSP supremo Mayawati, chief ministers including West Bengal’s Mamata Banerjee, Telangana’s K Chandrasekhar Rao, Odisha’s Naveen Patnaik and Delhi’s Arvind Kejriwal wished Mr Modi on his birthday.

Wishing the PM, Union home minister and BJP national president Amit Shah tweeted: “Your efforts and determination to make life easier for every India is an inspiration for us. It is a privilege as a people’s representative, fellow countryman and as a party worker to be your partner in nation rebuilding. I wish God your healthy life and longevity.”

Union defence minister Rajnath Singh hailed Mr Modi’s “visionary leadership”.
