CM explained the importance of running the administration from Vijayawada

Vijayawada

: AP government employees have reiterated that they cannot shift immediately from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. They demanded that the government must first provide the required infrastructure for employees.

The leaders of AP Secretariat Employees Association led by U. Murali Krishna met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Thursday at the CM’s camp office and discussed the issue of shifting of employees. They said that the employees could come from Hyderabad only by June 2016.

The CM explained the importance of running the administration from Vijayawada. “Already I am staying in Vijayawada city. The government administration is run from here. The employees should also come immediately,” he added.

But employees are reluctant to shift immediately from Hyderabad. The government should provide offices at one location, they said. Moreover, shifting of 15,000 employees is not possible at present.

The employees’ leaders said that they have no objections to work from Vijayawada. But the children of employees are in the middle of the academic session. So the employees cannot shift immediately.

If the government provides accommodation and office infrastructure they would come temporararily. The employees demanded that the government provide permanent housing or sites at Amaravati.

But the Chief Minister promised that the government could provide only temporary accommodation for the staff.

The employees should be ready for sacrifice for state interests and already the government had increased salaries, he said.
