Vijayawada: Student fails to clear exam; ends life

: In another student suicide incident in Krishna district, B. Tech final year student of Nova Engineering College, Puvvala Prem Prasad, 22, committed suicide by hanging himself in Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada late on Saturday late night.

On Sunday after his roommate and neighbours informed the police. Prasad died by hanging himself in a house, said Kondapalli circle-inspector D. Chavan. He said that Prasad took the step because of his failure in clearing the backlog subjects.

He added that Prasad’s parents had died earlier. Prasad did not clear backlog subjects of the previous three years of engineering, said NovaEngineering College director J. Srinivasa Rao.

He said that the victim did not attend the college regularly for the last three years. Prasad belongs to Valluru village in Kapileswarapuram mandal of East Godavari district.

The police officer said that the investigation is under progress based on the complaint lodged by the victim’s brother.
