MMRDA will audit BKC roads and bridges

The vehicle will be equipped qith material used to repair potholes.

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will conduct a security and structural audit of all the concrete roads and bridges of Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) since it is the Special Planning Authority (SPA) for the area. The authority has floated tenders to appoint a consultant for the same. If the detailed report suggests any types of repairs, then the work on it will start in the next six to eight months.

“Visual survey and mapping of the concrete roads will be done to check their status and to study the contractions and expansions of joints. Also, the five bridges located in BKC will be audited. This is a periodical audit done by MMRDA,” said a senior MMRDA official.

Meanwhile, ahead of the monsoon, MMRDA is also planning to deploy an emergency response vehicle at all metro construction sites to cater to the needs arising during the monsoon. There will be a team of 10 labourers and one engineer at each site. The vehicle will be equipped qith material used to repair potholes.
