‘Decision on PM face post alliance’

Mumbai: Congress Maharashtra in-charge and leader in the Lok Sabha clarified that the decision over prime ministership would be taken after the decision on an alliance. He said that he personally wishes his leader and Congress president Rahul Gandhi becomes prime minister of the country, but the Congress has already cleared its stand on the issue in the working committee meeting of the party. On Maharashtra, he said that there are winds of change in Maharashtra and the Congress-NCP alliance would emerge as winner in the state.  

Mr Kharge on Tuesday said, “It is my personal wish that my leader Rahul Gandhiji should be prime minister. But our party has made its stand clear already on the issue.”

He also said that the major issue before all political parties is to defeat an ideology, which is hurting India. “The RSS ideology is like poison. All opposition parties are uniting to defeat it,” said Mr Kharge.

While talking on the Congress party's prospects in the elections in Maharashtra, Mr Kharge said, “People are angry over the pro-business houses policy of the state BJP governments and the Centre. Petrol and diesel have reached  historically-high prices. This is hurting the masses. People are waiting to vote the BJP out of the government.”

Mr Kharge said that his party is launching a yatra to give a voice to people's anger. “Our Jansanghrasha Yatra would go to every part of the state. We are sure that people would give us a tremendous response. Communal governments in state as well as center will be exposed in this yatra. We are sure that the winds of change would become a storm after this yatra to tbhrow the BJP out.”

Mr Kharge added, “We will raise the Rafale scam in every rally. We will also expose the government on the failure of demonetisation and GST. This is an anti-farmer, anti-labour government responsible for the stoppage of development in Maharashtra.”
