Instagram has rolled out a major update dubbed as ‘stories highlights’ to thrill its users. The latest feature on the popular social media platform will let users keep Stories permanently on your profile page to show off formerly ephemeral content. The new feature will be available in version 25 of Instagram for Android and iOS.

It seems that Stories Archive is one of the other features copied from Snapchat, which introduced Memories last year. But the new feature introduced by Instagram differs from Snapchat’s version. Here, users can bridge old stories together in the archive, give them a name and share on their profile.

Instagram story highlights are basically archived stories that users can pin up to their profile. The new feature will appear below the biography. To create a Stories Highlight, users need to tap into the ‘New’ circle on the far left and choose any of the stories from your archives. Once that is accomplished, you can give your Stories Highlights a name and select a cover. From that point on, your Highlights will show up as a circle on your profile. Not only can you have as many Highlights as you wish, they stay on your profile until you remove it. A long tap on any individual Highlights circle allows you to edit or remove it.
