Mumbai: Sensex rose over 100 points in early morning trade today taking a cue from ‘strong’ Asian markets. The broader Nifty also moved up with the broader index inching closer to its psychological level of 8,300 in early trade today.

At 9:41 trading hours, the benchmark 30-share index was 92 points higher at 26,970 and Nifty went up 23 points to 8,297.

Asian markets started the day on a strong note taking cue from the US markets that opened in the green and have seen a surge over past couple of weeks.

All sectors witnessed a rush in buying except a few IT shares that saw a meek response from investors.
