3 labourers die while cleaning house well
The police has initiated a case against Mr Manoranjan accusing him of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
Kolkata: Three labourers died while cleaning a well at Nayabad in South 24 Parganas on Monday morning.
The victims were Swapan Bose, Nawab Ali Sheikh and Noor Sheikh. They were residents of Deuli in Mograhat.
The victims went to clean a well at Nayabad in Rasapunja of Bishnupur. After getting down inside the well at the house of Manoranjan Naskar at around 10:30 am Swapan fell ill first due to poisonous gas.
When he did not come up, the other two labourers went down into the well, only to meet with the same fate. Manoranjan had hired them for the work.
Later the fire brigade personnel recovered the bodies.
The well is around 20 years old, according to the Naskar family.
The police has initiated a case against Mr Manoranjan accusing him of culpable homicide not amounting to murder.
The three bodies were sent for post-mortem.
