Mumbai: Shyamwar Rai — driver of Indrani Mukerjea (main accused in the Sheena Bora murder case) turned approver – told the trial court that he was scared when Indrani shared with him the plan to murder Sheena in 2012.

Rai, an accused-turned-prosecution witness in the case, told the court that he had spoken to Indrani five to six times before Sheena’s murder.

While undergoing cross examination by Indrani’s lawyer in front of special CBI judge J.C. Jagdale, Rai responded that he was scared when defence asked him whether he felt fear when the murder plan was disclosed to him.

Rai further informed the court that he did not demand any money for helping Indrani with her plans. He said that Indrani had spoken to him on Skype sometime in 2012 and told him that she planned to eliminate her daughter, Sheena. He said that he had spoken to Indrani five or six times via Skype prior to the murder in April 2012.

The murder came to light in 2015 when Rai was arrested by Mumbai police in another case and he confessed to the murder of Sheena. The CBI, which took over the case later, claimed that financial dispute was the reason behind Indrani hatching a conspiracy to murder Sheena. Rai’s examination will continue on September 4.
