Star Wars: Old Republic

Apart the high costs, the game also required a large number of manpower. Around 800 people from over four continents were working on developing the game for over six years.

Grand Theft Auto V
It was estimated that GTA V was one such game that had a huge budget to make the game and all records were broken when they made four times the money during the release. The estimates budget was $265 Million and the money the makers made during the release was $800 Million and during the first weekend they made $1 Billion.

The game has a detailed open world environment, a fascinating storyline and also a deep online mode that makes it the most expensive but worth the money game.

Destiny
Destiny is one such video game that prioritises on a multiplayer platform. Known for being the highest competitive multiplayer game,destiny has not only a high production budget but also a high marketing and distribution budget. The estimated budget is $140 Million while the marketing and distribution was budgeted at $350 Million.

With these costs, Destiny was one of most expensive video game ever distributed and marketed in the entertainment industry.

Final Fantasy VII
The seventh title of the infamous Final Fantasy series is one of the most anticipated and awaited video games in the gaming fraternity. While, the development began is 1995 itself, constant developments and new technologies were being added regularly.

The estimated cost for this video game was nearly $145 Million. This video game franchise is considered to be one of the highest fan-following gaming series.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
Call of Duty: Modern Welfare 3 had one of the highest budgets and was the one of the most expensive video games ever made. It released in 2009 and was the sequel to Call of Duty: Modern Welfare. The estimated budget used to make the game was $250 Million.

The main reason as to why this game costs so much was because the makers used the IW 4.0 Game Engine, which has been the most powerful engine to be ever used in video games.
