Yoga for a glowing face

In today’s day and age, there is no dearth of beauty products and treatments people often subjects themselves to. While we pay proper attention to full body workouts, the most noticed part of the human body, the face, is oftentimes neglected. These exercises for face are not merely to get rid of the double chin or over-lapping cheeks but they also bring a glow to the face. These exercises improve the blood circulation around the face, allowing more oxygen and nourishment to reach each cell and also keep the skin clear of toxins.

The result is a wrinkle-free face. These yogasanas have been practiced for centuries by yogis who are known to possess the secret of a glowing skin. The ancient yogic practices and kriyas helped them cleanse their body, improve youthfulness and vitality. These not only have an impact externally, but over time, also manifest the mental and spiritual enrichment of an individual. However, some of these exercises are best done under supervision.

Place your right thumb on the right side temple, and left thumb on left side of your temple. Use your forefingers to massage your forehead in a sweeping manner.
Massage the area around your eyes in a circular motion, tapping it with your index and middle fingers.
Pinch your eyebrows gently along their length.
Place your palm on your cheeks and rub them gently in an upward direction.
Make a scissor sign with your index finger and middle finger, and massage the spaces above and below your lips by running the fingers from one end of the lip to the other,
Repeat the process to massage the sides of your face and behind your ears back and forth.
Look upwards and massage your neck with upward strokes.

Simha mudra

Kneel down, stretching your lower legs backward and keeping them together.
Gently lower your body such that your buttocks are resting on your heels and your thighs on your calf muscles.
Spread your knees apart a bit (around one feet) keeping back straight but relaxed.
Place the heel of the palm on the floor in front of you and in between the knees. Your fingers should face inwards.
Inhale and pull your tongue out. Exhale and look between the eyebrows.
While exhaling, try to make a ‘hhaa’ sound, like a lion’s roar
Hold the pose for 10 to 15 sec.
In the end, bring the tongue back into the mouth, relax your eyes, throat and facial muscles.
Repeat this process about four to six times.

The imaginary kiss
Look at the ceiling, pout with your lips and then smile. Alternate between the two steps for 10-15 minutes

Eating the apple
l Looking up at the ceiling, the chin pointing up, open the mouth wide, hold for a few seconds and close it
Do 10-15 such rounds, with jaws completely stretched while opening the mouth.
