Ajay Devgn, Kamaal Rashid Khan engage in Twitter war
Ever since Karan Johar announced the release date of his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM), which clashes with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, the fan bases of both movies have been at war with each other
Ever since Karan Johar announced the release date of his upcoming film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (ADHM), which clashes with Ajay Devgn’s Shivaay, the fan bases of both movies have been at war with each other. However, the real battle seems to have just begun with Ajay stepping into the ring with an audio clip where we can hear actor and self-proclaimed movie critic Kamaal R. Khan confessing that he was paid by the ADHM makers to only say positive things about the movie. While Ajay has only clarified his stand on the shocking revelation, KJo is still maintaining a silence and hasn’t reacted yet.
Both the films have a lot on stake, as it’s a big Diwali release and a clash against each other. Ajay Devgn was so confident about the product that he released the trailer a month and half in advance. On the other hand, Karan Johar is sticking to his new routine of ‘six week to release’ promotion.
While many have praised Shivaay, KRK has something entirely different to say about the movie. In a rant on Twitter, KRK badmouthed Ajay’s movie while giving a thumbs up to ADHM.
The rant came to Ajay’s notice, as did the fact that the reviewer had earlier praised his movie. Suspecting foul play, the actor made his business partner, Kumar Mangat, call up KRK and get to the bottom of this.
Ajay later put up a recorded conversation between Kumar and KRK on Twitter, and its content was shocking to say the least. KRK in the tape can allegedly be heard confessing that he was paid '25 lakh by Karan to say good things about the film.
Unhappy with this information, Ajay released an official statement asking authorities to conduct an investigation into the matter. He says, “I have been a part of the Indian film industry for the past 25 years and have been associated with over 100 films... It therefore pains me to see that people like Kamaal R. Khan are holding the film industry to ransom by spreading negativity about films to extort money from producers. It is very sad that people from our own industry are supporting such elements, and spoiling the ethos of the film industry. I would strongly demand that this be thoroughly investigated by competent authorities to clarify if Karan Johar was indeed involved in this.”
KRK in a series of tweets wrote that it was actually Ajay who offered him money to bash ADHM. “Kumar+Ajay offered me money to bash #AeDilHaiMushkil as he is offering in the tape also but I refused. I told them that I will do it free. (sic),” he wrote.
Word from Karan’s camp, however, is that he will not be reacting to this story.
