Alia-Shahid in Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin remake

If things go as planned, Alia Bhatt will very soon be working with her dad Mahesh Bhatt and that too, in a remake of one of the latter’s most loved films, Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin. The film had featured Pooja Bhatt as a runaway bride who hitchhikes with stranger Aamir Khan.

We hear that Alia Bhatt has been finalised to play Pooja’s character from the original film while Shahid will play the character of Raghu Jaitley, essayed by Aamir.

“Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin is a goldmine which we will certainly revisit soon,” Mahesh Bhatt said.

But despite Alia’s insistence, Mahesh Bhatt refuses to direct the remake. Says a source, “Alia is very keen to be directed by Bhatt saab just once. She feels that the remake of Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin is the best occasion for it. But Bhatt saab is adamant too. He will get someone else to direct the film, but will write it himself.”
