Clean chit to Dilwale, no mercy for Kya Kool Hai Hum 3

Dilwale maker Rohit Shetty is a relived man. For the longest time, he had locked himself in an editing room finalising the cuts with Steven Bernard who has edited all his movies. Finally the film is ready and has got a clearance from the censor board with no cuts. Of late, the board has been playing bad cop with many movies which has irked the film industry at large.
However, Rohit’s film being a complete family entertainer, had to face no roadblocks. At the preview of the film, a visibly pleased Rohit said, “The film is ready. We sent it to the board and they have cleared it with a U/A certificate, with no cuts. We are excited for the world to see our film.”
Over 40 cuts for Kya Kool Hai Hum 3
The third installment of Kya Kool Hai Hum was walking the razor’s edge as far as the censor board was concerned. Earlier this year, when the makers had submitted the film to the board, it had reportedly placed a ban on the film. The board has been coming down very heavily on films that are high on nudity and innuendoes. And Kya Kool Hai Hum, being a sex comedy, was at the receiving end.
However, now it has been reliably learnt that the board finally cleared the film last week with an A-certificate. And that has come at a price of over 40 cuts. In fact, actors have had to re-dub some portions to change the original dialogues. For instance, the word “horny” has now been changed to “Mickey” and “popat” (which in the film has been used to refer to the male genitalia) has been changed to “tota”. The board feels the latter has no double meaning, even though both words literally mean “parrot”.
The film stars Tusshar Kapoor, Aftab Shivdasani and Mandana Karimi in principal roles and is set to release next month.
