Fans ko gussa kyun aata hai

Yash Raj Films has been fiercely guarding its latest offering, Fan. One only knows that Gaurav is an ardent admirer of Aryan Khanna, a character Shah Rukh swears is in no way similar to his off screen persona — except for the fact that he is a superstar.
Parallels are however, being drawn between the film and Robert De Niro’s The Fan. How much it will live up to the comparison, we’d know only on April 15, the day of its worldwide release.
So what is the story of Gaurav and why does he invite such wrath from his star There is a scene in the film where Aryan dismisses Gaurav and says, “Tum mere fan nahi ho.” The scene incidentally drew much attention from Shah Rukh’s real fans who didn’t see the exchange in good light. How can a star speak to his fan like this, after all But that’s the whole story.
Says a source, one of the few to have sat through its screening, “This is one of the most important scenes in the film and it is a very interesting face off. From the trailer it appears that Aryan is rude to his fan, but when you see the film you will know what Gaurav has done. Gaurav makes a big mistake but doesn’t realise its repercussions. He believes that what he has done is right.”
We’d rather take a call ourselves, on April 15.
