Touted as the queen of horror in Bollywood, Bipasha Basu is back with eerie tales, but this time on the small screen with &TV’s Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. Speaking at an event about the new show she said, “These are short films by different directors. You will not see tacky production values. I will narrate the story, but not from a teleprompter — I like to do things differently, so the presentation is very today. I initially thought of doing something around fitness, but we eventually decided to go with this.”
What does she make of being called queen of horror “I’m okay with the tag,” she says nonchalantly even though that doesn’t quite describe her personality off screen. “I get scared very easily. By loud noises, darkness, heights — everything.” Buzz is that she has also started shooting for another mini-series helmed by various directors. “Yes I have started shooting for that and we have visiting directors. It will be across three seasons — episodes shot by Rohan Sippy, Reema Katgi etc.” This apart from a film that she will announce soon.
At a time of the year when all Bengalis head home for Durga Pujo, how does she feel about working away “This would have been the 75th year at home. My whole family is there but I’m here shooting every day. My family sends me pictures daily and makes me jealous.” About marriage she says, “I believe in the institution because my parents are so much in love even today but then I also see so many marriages around me crumbling. They aren’t the perfect example and it scares you somewhere.”
