Ahead of his impending concert in Chennai, Farhan Akhtar seems to be in a pretty relaxed mood – which is surprising, considering the Bollywood star has been mired in controversy after news of his separation with wife Adhuna broke to widespread shock.

While the couple has asked for space and privacy from the media, we needed to know – how is he holding up “I’m actually holding up pretty okay because it was amicably done,” the multi-faceted Farhan reveals. “What’s important right now are her feelings, our children’s feelings and to make sure it’s as amicable as possible,” he adds, refusing to speak any further on the subject.

Farhan, whose film Wazir, was the first release this year, has a pretty packed 2016 ahead of him. “I’m right now in the midst of shooting for Rock On 2, so it’s a busy month,” he says. The film will see Farhan reprise his role from the first movie as musician Aditya Shroff. The music will be worth the wait, he assures. “As the title suggests, it’s going to be a lot of rock, but with a slightly more contemporary touch. It’s more evolved, just like the characters who have grown since the first movie. The music in Rock On was more young and grungier, to suit the context of the film,” he explains.

With his string of collaborations with various other musicians and music producers in Bollywood, will we be able to hear him croon a Tamil song soon and work with A.R. Rahman He laughs, “Rather than saying that I am thinking of working with him, the question is if he’s thinking of working with me! I believe in not saying ‘no’ to anything in life, so you never know. I would love to collaborate with Rahman because I’m a big fan of his, and follow his work closely.”

So what does he like to do in between shooting and touring Chilling, he says, as there’s nothing greater than being at home with friends and family. That said, he does like to indulge his adventurous side with skydiving trips. “Yeah, I like the adrenaline rush you get from adventure sports. But as a part of the film industry, the breaks we get aren’t that long,” he says. If that’s the case, what is his fitness secret “Oh that’s just because of the weather. It preserves my looks!” he quips.
