From the moment the trailer of Sonakshi Sinha’s film Akira hit the screens, her hardcore action avatar has become the talk of town. So far in her career, Sona has shared the screen with several action superstars in the industry including Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn and Salman Khan. From her smooth turn as an action star herself in Akira, it is apparent that the lady was learning all the time she was sharing the screen with the bulky and brawny men.

At the trailer launch, when Sonakshi was asked who her favourite action co-star was, she did not pick a name. She said, “I’ve worked with Salman in Dabangg, with Akshay in Rowdy Rathore and with Ajay in Son of Sardaar. The past five years I’ve been working with these guys and I have only learnt ‘maar peet’ from them. It’s truly been a pleasure watching them perform action scenes. I love action films myself and I’m really happy and thankful that I got the opportunity to do something similar in this film.”

Ask her if she ever received any tips from Akshay, and she says, “I’ve learnt a lot from him. He always says to stay away from injuries, but I have not been able to follow that. But he is a very sensible person with a great understanding of martial arts. He’s just so involved in it that he automatically ends up teaching you a lot without even intending to.”

During Akira, Sonakshi suffered three major injuries. Now that she is a honed action performer, does she harbour any plans of trying her luck in the West, like Priyanka and Deepika “I feel they (Priyanka, Deepika) have got some really good roles in Hollywood. So if something like that comes my way, I will think about it. But right now I don’t really intend to.”
