Karan Johar chooses to skip Ae Dil Hai Mushkil promo

With less than a week to go for the release of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, lead stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan landed on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show to promote their film. However, it was director Karan Johar’s absence that was conspicuous.

A source says, “Karan was, in principle, committed to be a part of the show. Ever since Kapil and Karan hosted an awards show last year, they have gotten along like a house on fire. Kapil was keen to have Karan on his show. In fact, Karan had even promised Kapil to make it a point to star as a guest on the show. But after his recent video reasserting his patriotism, he didn’t feel like making a public appearance. Who was to predict these recent developments ”

Karan later requested Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to join Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma on the show. She wasn’t going to be part of the promotions initially.

The source adds, “With Fawad Khan being out of the picture, and Karan opting to stay away, Aishwarya agreed to be a part of the show, even though she wasn’t meant to show up for promotions.”
