The recent IPL opening ceremony was marked by colourful performances, but the one who stole the show was Katrina Kaif. Her toned abs were much talked about, with even Ranveer Singh asking people to “give it up for Katrina’s abs”. Kat’s fitness trainer Yasmin Karachiwala reveals how hard Katrina worked for it.
“We have been working on her abs and the whole body for the shoot of Pashmina song in Fitoor, in which she wanted to look like a dancer. We have been working a lot, trying to define the abs as much as we can. She shot a song for Baar Baar Dekho in Alibaug last week and wanted to look super sexy for it. Before the IPL, I trained her in Pilates and we did a lot of cardio. Basically, the abs are a result of all the Pilates she has been doing,” says Yasmin, adding, “If you watch Dhoom 3 or Bang Bang, you will notice that she has been maintaining that fitness level for the last one year. We tweak it every now and then depending on her projects.”
Talking about how dedicated Katrina is, Yasmin points out, “To look like Katrina or have a body like her, you need to be as committed and dedicated as she is. Katrina has a rule — when she is at the gym, we just workout, that’s all we do — no chatting, joking or fooling around but only serious work. You need to follow her tactics — commitment, dedication and control of food — if you want to look like her. She doesn’t miss a single day of workout. However tired she is, she spends two to three hours in the gym every day.”
