Bollywood couples have forever been giving us #RelationshipGoals. But this time, they’ve taken it up a notch. Celebrities have taken over their social networking sites to upload pictures of themselves with their best friends — who are none other than their spouses.
Akshay Kumar uploaded a picture of his wife Twinkle and himself, where he is rocking away on the guitar, with the caption “Happy Friendship day to my one and only you are the star that makes me rock <3 Growing crazy together.” Shilpa Shetty who is also quite active on social media uploaded a picture of herself with Raj Kundra with a caption which referred to Raj Kundra as her soulmate, that said, “Thank you for being my best friend ever in every situation.” Other couples like Genelia D’souza and Bipasha Basu also got on the bandwagon and taken to their social media pages to upload pictures of their spouses, with similar cheesy captions, referring to Ritesh Deshmukh and Karan Singh Grover as their best friends, proving that they are indeed friends before everything else! Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, were also in the news recently when they revealed that they were friends before they started dating, which made things so much easier!
Following the trend, Ek Rishta Shajhedari Ka, a new Hindi serial has already caught the attention of audiences because of it’s memorable dialogue “Pati patni main pyar kam ho to chalta hai, par dosti kam nahi honi chahiye,” meaning ‘its okay if there is less love between husband and wife, but friendship shouldn’t be compromised.’
This seems to be catching up with youngsters too who admit that their partners are their best friends! “Relationships work out when there is the same level of understanding and trust from both parties, which also works as the basis of a friendship. A lot of marriages don’t work because there are misunderstandings, which leads to fights and trust issues. But the key to a healthy friendship, which today is the basis of a relationship, is communication, compromise and spending quality time with each other, which these celebrities seem to have figured out and are constantly working on,” reveals Dr. Nisha Khanna, a celebrity marriage counsellor.
