His upcoming film Mirzya is one of the most anticipated debuts of the year, but actor Harshvardhan Kapoor is treating the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra project as two different films, not one. A source close to the project says that this is because of the fact that Harshvardhan plays two roles in the film. “Since the two roles he plays are not connected in any way, Harshvardhan has worked on those characters as if they belong to two different films. He even developed a different body language and speech pattern for the two roles. He is treating them as though they are two different characters in two different movies.” Another interesting fact about one of his characters in Mirzya is that he doesn’t have any dialogues, a source reveals.

“The entire saga of Mirzya (character) and his ladylove Sahibaan unfolds without any dialogues whatsoever. Throughout the shooting of the story, no words are exchanged between the two onscreen lovers, who are played by Harshvardhan and Saiyami Kher,” adds the source.

In fact, the actor is so dedicated to the role that he has even decided to stay quite low-key off the screen. “He was not required to speak lines on camera. So Harshvardhan decided to stay mum off the camera as well. The entire love story unfolds in the backdrop of Gulzar Saab’s poetry rendered in Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy soundtrack,” adds the source.

Says Harshvardhan, “I can’t reveal too much about my role in Mirzya. But yes, it is a double role. Rakeysh sir and I treated the characters as two distinct and unrelated characters. It was like doing two different films. So technically, I have already done two films with one of the most talented directors in the country, and I am eager to do a third one as well.”
