Mumbai Film Fest launches amidst much fanfare
Bollywood’s top filmmakers gathered for the launch of the Mumbai Film Festival 2016. More than 175 titles were announced, making up the stellar line-up for the fest between October 20 and 27.
Bollywood’s top filmmakers gathered for the launch of the Mumbai Film Festival 2016. More than 175 titles were announced, making up the stellar line-up for the fest between October 20 and 27. Kangana Ranaut unveiled the trophy after which an announcement was made of about the fest’s big line-up.
Opening the fest is Konkona Sen Sharma's debut directorial feature, the acclaimed, A Death in the Gunj. Among the international names announced for MAMI are Ken Loach's Cannes Film Festival winner I, Daniel Blake, Paul Verhoeven's Elle, Nicholas Winding Refn's The Neon Demon and more.
Sharing his excitement about the fest, Anurag Kashyap said, \"My biggest memory about the festival is when my film Black Friday didn’t release and MAMI screened it. The festival is one of the best we have and it is growing.”
