Neetu Chandra stepped into the Tamil film industry with a superhit film, Yavarum Nalam in 2009, which was directed by filmmaker, Vikram K. Kumar. It’s been almost seven years now and the bond that Neetu and Vikram share has only gotten stronger with time. So when Neetu realised that her friend’s wedding day was drawing close, she dropped everything to be by his side on his big day.
“Vikram is like a family to me. I have known him for six to seven years now, seen him deliver hit after hit such as 24, Manam, Ishq and more. So when Vikram called and said, ‘you have to come for the marriage,’ I wrapped up my work quickly and flew back to the country from US for the wedding. You just can never say no to him. He is that kind of humble person,” says Neetu.
Gushing over Vikram’s wife-to-be, Neetu says, “His bride is not only gorgeous but she is a beautiful person on the inside as well. I wish all the luck to them.”
When asked if she would like to collaborate with the filmmaker again, Neetu happily says, “Vikram is a super cool director. He was the one who launched me in the bilingual project with Yavarum Nalam. He has worked with superstars. Of course, I would love to work with him again.”
The actress also shares how happy and excited she was when she first got the news of her friend’s upcoming nuptials. “I was so happy. There are very few men who want to settle down in life with their partner; guys are commitment phobic that way. I respect men who are not afraid to commit and can be loyal to their partner. Vikram is exactly that kind of person. He is stable, loyal, supportive, and a true gentleman. They are a beautiful couple and are lucky to have each other.”
The actress, who is going solo at the wedding, is in no mood to get hitched herself, as she feels she is still too young to settle down, “I’m single and happy, let the world know,” she says, boldly. “Destiny has its own way to get people together. So if it is meant to happen, it will. I believe in the institution of marriage but I haven’t met someone I see myself spending the rest of my live with. Being a female actor coming from Bihar, I had a lot on my plate. It took me six to seven years to get where I am today. I am not in the space to stop or even pause. To tie the knot, I need to fall deeply in love with someone. If I feel like I cannot live without that person, only then will I marry him. I’m a true romantic at heart but I am also a strong-minded woman. I know my worth and the day I find a man who truly deserves me, I’ll say my vows to him,” she adds.
