Her debut film Yaariyan was a box office success, but for her second film — Sanam Re — director Divya Khosla Kumar has moved away from telling a teen story to a more intense romance. A lot of the media spotlight however, has been on the alleged relationship between Sanam Re’s leads: Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam. While whispers of their growing proximity during the film’s shoot had been doing the rounds for several months now, the talk only gained steam after Pulkit separated from his wife Shweta.
Divya, however, does not think that the rumours about Yami and Pulkit have adversely affected her film, or taken the spotlight away from it. When we asked her if the speculation about Pulkit and Yami’s alleged affair had made things awkward on the sets, Divya said, “My concern was limited to how Pulkit and Yami delivered the shots. What they do in their free time is their own concern.”
Divya did agree that the comfort level between the two actors was helpful to her film. “It always helps the film it the actors share a good comfort level and are at ease with each other because ultimately they have to portray lovers on screen for the audience,” she said.
