Priyanka Chopra’s popular win

After her much-feted turn as Kashi in Bajirao Mastani, Priyanka Chopra had another big reason to celebrate. On Wednesday, PeeCee won the People’s Choice Award for “Favourite Actress in a New TV Series”, for her show Quantico, in the US. She is the first Indian actor to win at the People’s Choice Awards. “I would like to thank everyone who voted for Quantico,” the actress said after picking up her prize. “My first year in America and to come to another country and get this kind of acceptance is I guess what America is all about. So thank you, for accepting me.” PeeCee, who shared the stage with John Stamos during the ceremony, was later spotted clicking photos with action star Vin Diesel.
