Anushka Sharma’s debut film as a producer — NH10 — turned out to be a successful experiment. The movie also marked the launch of her production house Clean Slate Films. Apart from box office success, Anushka received kudos for venturing into production at such an early age — not the norm for most of her contemporaries.

We now hear that Anushka is going to take her production plans ahead aggressively. For Clean Slate, which is managed by her brother Karnesh, Anushka has already green-lit two films. One of these will feature Anushka, and will be directed by debutant Anshai Lal.

In an earlier interview, Anushka had said that this film would be filled with humour. And while she wouldn’t clarify just how many of the films from Clean Slate she would be starring in as well, she did confirm that she would feature in Anshai’s movie. Work on the latter is expected to start in a couple of months — with the shoot most likely to be set in Punjab.

“Anushka has to finish Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, which will be done in a month’s time. Then she will start script reading sessions for her home production. They are most likely to start the film in the second week of April. The majority of the shoot will take place in Punjab,” a source in the know said. As of now, the film has been titled Phillaur — the name of a railway junction on the borderline of the Ludhiana and Jalandhar cantonments.
