Rani Mukerji, who is busy playing doting mom to little Adira these days, may soon make a comeback on the silver screen with a biopic.

The actress was last seen playing Inspector Shivani Shivaji Roy in Mardaani. The movie, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, was appreciated by critics and audiences alike. Many even believed that Mardaani was her career’s best performance. However, her professional life has seen little progress since then.

A little birdie has revealed that the actress is now gearing up for a new movie. “Rani will soon be seen in a biopic, to be produced by YRF, and directed by Siddharth Malhotra, who last directed We Are Family. The role was first offered to Priyanka Chopra. Considering her career is going places in Hollywood, Priyanka wasn’t keen on doing a biopic post Mary Kom. Later, the role fell into Rani’s kitty, although there has been no official confirmation that has come our way so far.
