Shilpa Shirodkar returns as obsessive mum on TV

Former film actress Shilpa Shirodkar, has now made her way to the small screen. After Ek Muthi Aasmaan last year, she will now be seen in Silsila Pyaar Ka. She plays a mother who is obsessed with controlling her son’s life. Though Shilpa has no qualms in working on the small screen, she’s learnt some lessons from her debut show. “I worked round the clock for my first show. This time around I’m being practical. I’ve regimented my hours of work because family is priority. The production house understands that I’m a mother and have a lot of responsibilities. A lot of times I try making time for my daughter, but turns out she’s already planned her day. These days kids won’t wait for anyone,” says Shilpa with a laugh.

Coming to her onscreen obsessive mom role, the actress tells us, “I love my daughter to bits in real life but no, I’m not a control freak like my character is. So I was a bit nervous about how I would pull it off. When my daughter heard about the part she said, ‘Mom you just have to be yourself, don’t act.’ My husband too agreed with her.”
